Arrive at ICF

This entry is the first of several postings by Zhang Juan, a Chinese educator with Beijing Brooks Education Center. Zhang Juan and Hu Yabin, a school teacher from Beijing, are visiting Wisconsin for two weeks to visit US project schools and learn about environmental education in the US. Thank goodness, we arrived at the International Crane Foundation (ICF) successfully. It snows heavily here, and the lovely guest house we live in is surrounded by pure snow, with only the colorful flags in the sky -- three countries gathered together for the same wishes, saving cranes and protecting wetlands.

You can see the 15 species of crane at the International Cranes Foundation, such as this White-naped Crane (above). There are so many beautiful paintings from all over the world in the guest house. We are surprised to see the Chinese posters here -- the distinct birds of China. I think if people know more about the beautiful and interesting nature, they must love it and want to do something to protect it when it is hurt, that is why we do many things to let the children know more about cranes and wetlands.
